“I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration.”
― Frida Kahlo
Gallery Azul is a small gallery with big talent. We host themed group art shows as well as solo artists. We started out as the art studio of Ray Vasquez and Cora Ramirez-Vasquez but since its inception in 2016 we have evolved.
To use art to stimulate, inform, and educate the community. To have a platform that allows artists to have a voice about culture, current events, and historical events that impact us all. Gallery Azul opened its doors on November 2nd, 2006 with a group show in honor of the years old Mexican celebration of life “Dia de Los Muertos” (Day of the Dead). We have continued this tradition with women themed shows for Women’s heritage, for teacher appreciation month we had Teacher as Artist-Artist as Teacher, and for Black Heritage month we celebrated Black artists. We believe in supporting each other in the arts.
Gallery Azul is committed to finding high quality, collectible, cultural, and conceptual art to add to the San Pedro Art scene. As well as to offer opportunities to art collectors, and interior designers to have their chance to collect the works of emerging artists. If you are looking for culture, color, and movement this is the gallery for you.
To provide a venue and platform for working, emerging artists to collaborate, and showcase contemporary and cultural artworks.
